Deputy Chief Justice Zondo informed Minister Gordhan that an investigation was to be undertaken to establish how the leaks had occurred.

The Chairperson of the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, Deputy Chief Justice Zondo says he invites those who have evidence regarding the allegation that the Commission’s Head of Investigations, Terrence Nombembe leaked Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan’s statement, to submit such evidence to the commission.

“The Chairperson wishes to invite those who have made the allegation that Mr Terrence Nombembe is responsible for the leaks to come forward and furnish the Secretary of the Commission with evidence to support their allegation so that their evidence can be considered,” says a statement released by the Commission.

This comes after one of the Sunday newspapers published an article last weekend which alleged that the person responsible for the leaks was Nombembe.
