The Junior Springboks will return home with the bronze medal from the World Rugby Under 20 Championships in France. They beat New Zealand 40-30 in a come-from-behind third place play-off.
Coach Chean Roux was pleased with the way they fought back and believes they’ve all learnt a lot during the tournament.
France are the champions, after they beat England 33-25 in the final.
“It’s about being super professional. Obviously I’ve worked a lot with Rassie and hopefully there are a couple of things that we can streamline from the Springboks to the Under 20s. We’re trying to instill that. In a couple of years most of these players will be Springboks, and for them it will be a familiar environment,” says Roux.
