Jump on board the climate train

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Jump aboard the Climate Train! that’s the message of climate change that has been to towns across South Africa. The awareness train is now at the Durban Station as part of COP 17. The project is a collaboration between the National Lotteries Fund, the British Council and environmental agency Indalo Yethu.
Indalo Yethu’s Tiny Maladhre says the carriages of the train have been turned into interactive spaces for students, tourists and even Durbanites to come onboard and to share and discuss issues of climate change. “At the climate train we have the exhibition, poetry. We have statues that are made out of waste, we have clothes that are made out of waste. When it stops they are doing awareness about climate change. Everybody’s welcome to the workshop because climate change affects all of us even school children have been in the climate train,” says Maladhre.
The Climate Train will be at the Durban Station until the end of COP 17 on December 9.
