Tom Moyane wanted the inquiry into governance and tax administration at SARS be suspended.

Retired Judge Robert Nugent has rejected a request by suspended SARS boss Tom Moyane that the inquiry into governance and tax administration at the revenue services be suspended.

Last week, Moyane’s lawyer Advocate Dali Mpofu said the inquiry is biased against his client because he’s being made to face two inquiries on the same matters.

Judge Nugent has labelled Moyane’s submission as a “disgrace”.

Several former executives, who have testified before the commission, have accused Moyane of instilling a culture of fear when he took over the reigns in September 2014.
