South African Football Association (Safa) President Danny Jordaan is not concerned about security issues in Egypt ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Several South Africans were injured in Egypt on Sunday when the bus they were travelling with into the famed Giza pyramids was attacked.
Pictures posted on social media showed a bus with some of its windows blown out, shattered and debris next to the road. Egypt will be hosting Afcon next month.
Meanwhile, the ABC Motsepe League (third tier) Play-offs draw was made on Monday afternoon in Johannesburg. Nine provincial teams will battle it out for two spots to reach the NFD League.
The event will be hosted from the 4th until the 9th of June in Cape Town.
Jordaan says the league is an important component of SA football.
Four provinces have lodged protests ahead of the playoffs. Acornbush United, Mangaung United, Steenberg United, Summer Fields Dynamos and Hungry Lions will represent their provinces, while teams in Limpopo, North West, Eastern Cape and Gauteng have lodged protests.
Maccabi and TS Sporting were promoted to the National First Division last season, with Maccabi finishing 11th on the log and TS Sporting finishing 9th on the log.
NFD teams Uthongathi, Real Kings, Mbombela United and Richards Bay come from the ABC Motsepe League, while PSL teams Baroka FC, Chippa United and Highlands Park also come from the league. Jordaan was grateful to the sponsors Motsepe Foundation.
Draw- Acornbush United, Limpopo and North West will be in Group A, Mangaung United, Hungry Lions and Eastern Cape will be in Group B. Sttenberg United, Summer Fields Dynamos and Hungry Lions will be in Group C. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
