JMPD recovers copper cables worth half a million rand

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) K9 Unit has managed to recover copper cables worth half a million rand believed to have been stolen from City Power’s Randburg Station.

Acting on information received from the Crime Intelligence Unit, JMPD were able to trace and recover the stolen copper cables hidden in a warehouse in Silverton, Pretoria.

Two suspects were arrested by JMPD officers and have been detained at Silverton SAPS for further prosecution.

The suspects will face charges of possession of stolen goods.
