South Africa on Monday expressed grave concern about the actions of Israeli soldiers against Palestinian protesters 58 of whom were killed and as many as two thousand wounded.

The Jewish Board of Deputies and the Zionist Federation have slammed government’s decision to withdraw the SA Ambassador from Israel after the deaths of scores of Palestinians during protests Monday.

The two organizations say the move by Pretoria is outrageous and displays gross double-standards against the Jewish state.

South Africa on Monday expressed grave concern about the actions of Israeli soldiers against Palestinian protesters 58 of whom were killed and as many as 2000 people wounded.

They were protesting as the US moved its embassy to Jerusalem on the same day that Palestinians mark the “Nakba” or establishment of the Israeli state.

Palestinians say they should also be given a state and also claim Jerusalem as their capital.
