Jazz maestro Gloria Bosman to be buried at Westpark Cemetery

The award-winning jazz singer and composer Gloria Bosman will be buried in the Heroes’ Acre at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg on Sunday morning. Her family says only relatives and close friends will attend the private burial ceremony.

Bosman died on Tuesday after a short illness. She was 50-years-old.

On Friday night friends and family paid tribute to Bosman at a memorial service at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani. 

Bosman will be remembered for her versatile voice that was able to blend different genres such as gospel, jazz, rock and Afro pop.

Her debut album “Tranquility” scored her a South African Music Award (SAMA) for the best newcomer while the self-produced second album, “The Many Faces of Gloria” also earned her several nominations.
