Janusz Walus, the killer of former SACP General Secretary Chris Hani, has tendered his apology to Hani’s widow Limpho and the SACP.
This came out at the virtual Constitutional Court hearing to have Justice Minister Ronald Lamola’s refusal to grant him parole overturned.
In his affidavit, Walus said Lamola’s refusal to grant him parole was unlawful and discriminatory.
His lawyer Roelof Du Plessis said Walusz has long fulfilled his parole conditions and has apologised to the Hani family.
The SACP’s spokesperson Dr Alex Mashilo says they still maintain Walus did not disclose the whole truth on the assassination of their leader.
