Jabulani Mendu hopes Swallows’ fortunes will change

Former Moroka Swallows central midfielder Jabulani Mendu hopes that his former team will recover from their poor start.

The Dube Birds recently fired coach Zeca Marques after a string of poor results.

Swallows are in 12th position on the log after one victory, one draw and three defeats.

The Dube Birds have hired Kaizer Chiefs legend Fani Madida as their caretaker coach until a permanent replacement is found.

Mendu has applauded the decision.

Swallows’ next game in the GladAfrica Championship will be against TS Galaxy on Saturday.

Three PSL coaches were fired last week after a string of poor results by Black Leopards, AmaZulu FC and Chippa United.Mendu says it is easier to fire coaches than many players.

Bidvest Wits Coach Gavin Hunt criticised the influx of foreign coaches who do not have the qualifications to coach in the PSL.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs Coach Ernst Middendorp has gone on record as saying that midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase will not break into his team due to his style of play. Mendu lambasted him for saying that.
