The British Lions and Welsh International joined the Western Cape Super Rugby franchise at the start of the season, and is remaining in South Africa for the near future while the world deals with this crisis.

Stormers centre Jamie Roberts says it is a tough situation being so far away from his family during the coronavirus epidemic.

The British Lions and Welsh International joined the Western Cape Super Rugby franchise at the start of the season, and is remaining in South Africa for the near future while the world deals with this crisis.

Roberts says it is particularly difficult to be away from his parents, but felt it is best to remain in South Africa.

Roberts has been in the media lately after making his apartment in Cardiff available to NHS Doctors who are working with coronavirus patients in the United Kingdom.

Roberts, who has played in 97 tests and is himself a qualified medical doctor, has a message for Stormers fans and other South Africans.

We want to encourage the DHL Stormers Faithful to stand together and do your part in limiting the spread of the Corona Virus. Now is the time for us all to support one another. #iamastormer #dhldelivers pic.twitter.com/LSlQYLbth9
