Still no textbooks for Limpopo learners – 10 January, 2013

The Department of Basic Education dismissed suggestions on February 6, 2013, that there are still schools without textbooks in Limpopo. This came after the Democratic Alliance (DA) released a statement saying they know of at least one school that is still waiting for delivery.
Department spokesperson, Panyaza Lesufi, says they have put an internal system where they can track every book that was delivered and they know what’s been delivered. He says if the DA feels there is a school without books, they are willing to open up about the issue to show that they’ve got nothing to hide. “We have a system, even if we get a book in a river we can tell which batch which school that’s how sophisticated this system is.”
