Grace Mugabe is accused of assaulting a South African model in a hotel in Sandton Johannesburg in August last year.

Police national spokesperson Vish Naidoo says they have approached the international criminal police organisation Interpol to seek help on the enforcement of the warrant of arrest that has been issued for Zimbabwe’s former first lady Grace Mugabe.

Lobby group Afriforum yesterday said  that warrant of arrest was issued for Mugabe’s alleged assault of South African model Gabriella Engels in a hotel in Sandton Johannesburg in August last year. Mugabe claimed that she acted in self-defence.

In July this year, AfriForum won a High Court application to review and set aside the government’s decision to grant Mugabe diplomatic immunity. There’s no immediate comment from Mugabe to the latest developments.
