International Revelation Congress aims to tackle illegal foreign nationals dilemma

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The political party, International Revelation Congress (IRC), says it will tackle the issue of illegal foreign nationals, unemployment and improve service delivery if voted into power.

IRC was formed in 2013.

It currently has one seat in the Thulamela Municipality. The party will contest for elections in all four municipalities under the Vhembe District, including other provinces.

In 2014, IRC formed an alliance with the defunct Agang SA.

Deputy leader of the party, Khakhathi Tshisikule, says that alliance is now a thing of the past. The party is opposed to illegal foreign nationals and would deport them if voted into power.

“All we wanna do as IRC people, who are in our municipalities within our communities, who don’t have papers to be in South Africa, we are going to force them to go back to their respective countries. South Africa deserves to be clean. There is no way South Africa can be able to take care of 53 countries. We can never. We cannot have (that). We can never have enough sympathy. If we try to be good to the whole of Africa and the whole of the world, South Africans are going to suffer,” says Tshisikule.

The party has registered about 33 ward councillor candidates and 33 PR councillor in the Makhado Municipality.

Tshisikule believes the party will have a good showing come the 1st of November.

“We contested for the first time as IRC in the 2016 elections. We manage to save one seat. We really believe everyone, if not all, is on our side. We are so happy and the management and the leadership of the organisation has gone all out to ensure that at least this time we cover more than 75% of our Vhembe, which we have done that and we are optimistic that we are going to win.”

Some people have shown belief in the party, saying that it may help improve service delivery and fight corruption.

“I want IRC to fight for my right. I want IRC to follow the money. IRC will improve our lives. They are going to help us. I hope IRC is only one organisation. who can give us a good life, who can deliver … delivery (sic) on the people of South Africa.”

IRC says it will also contest in other provinces such as Gauteng and Mpumalanga.
