Today, 5 October 2023 President Cyril Ramaphosa officially launched the new Border Management Authority (BMA) at Musina, Limpopo.
The BMA came into effect on the 1st of April 2023. The legal establishment of the BMA means that South Africa has an integrated border management platform, with a single command and control with which to support the attainment of secure borders, safe travel and trade facilitation.
Minister of Home Affairs Dr Aaron Motsoaledi announces a multibillion-rand project to upgrade six of South Africa’s border posts. This will also develop border management and deal with border issues.
