India has ended day two of the third test against Australia in Sydney, on 96 for two.

They are 242 runs behind Australia’s innings, which ended earlier in a long day of cricket when they were bowled out for 338.

Steve Smith’s was the last wicket to fall, when he was run out for 131.

Ravindra Jadeja was the best of the India bowlers, taking four for 62.

India survived some tight bowling at the end of the day’s play.

Shubnam Gill made 50 before being caught by Cameron Green off the bowling of Josh Hazelwood.
