Impact of climate change on rural farmers

Like most African communities, a number of rural South Africans survive on subsistence farming and that in turn is dependent on rain. This practise has been passed from generation to generation. –> However – villagers say they are already suffering the effects of climate changes in weather patterns. Research shows that South Africa and other countries of the world will face food and water security shortages over the next 70 years if the world’s leaders do not act to stop climate change. SABC reporter Horisani Sithole drove to Mhinga a village near the Kruger National Park in Limpopo to look at the impact of climate change on rural farmers and filed this report:
