Imfume murder suspects must be brought to book: Ramaphosa

Reading Time: < 1 minute

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the killers of Nqobizwe Mkhize, an African National Congress elections coordinator from Imfume village outside Durban, must be found and brought to book.

Mkhize and two other community members were shot dead on Saturday morning on the first day of the voter registration drive.

Ramaphosa says killings of politically affiliated people in KwaZulu-Natal must be brought to an end.

“The killings in KZN have to stop. They are totally unacceptable as a whole. We cannot accept that people can be killed in such a cruel manner in a democratic country like ours. And I’m saying that those who are responsible must be sought after. We must hunt them down and find them.”
