The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) says it’s realistic about its prospects for the upcoming elections. It intends being a strong opposition in the National Assembly but has its sights set on control of KwaZulu-Natal.  The IFP will be launching its election manifesto next week.

The country’s fourth largest political party is preparing to contest the upcoming elections. The IFP is confident it will fill the 22 000 seat Chatsworth stadium when it delivers its election promises. The party was born 44 years ago and once reigned in KwaZulu-Natal. It now wants to regain control of the province.

The party’s manifesto will hinge on five pillars, from education to the economy and land reform. The IFP believes that government must change the management systems of State Owned Enterprises.

Inkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi will deliver the party’s manifesto.
