Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, has called on other political party leaders to lead by example.

The veteran politician was speaking during his visit to voting stations in the south of Durban.

Buthelezi says young people must be encouraged to exercise their democratic right to participate in the electoral process.

This, as the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) raised concern that the number of young registered voters is low.

“This is an obligation for those of us who are still alive to see to it that out democracy is strengthened. So, I’ve not come to canvass for votes for the IFP, but I’ve come here to make sure that my fellow South Africans are able to strengthen our democracy by registering and making sure that they vote for a party of their choice,” says Buthelezi.
