IEC Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo says 55% of the votes cast around the country have been counted, with the Northern Cape leading the way with 89% of votes counted, scanned and audited.
The Western Cape has counted 72% of it’s votes, with the Eastern Cape 70% complete.
The IEC expects to release final results by Thursday.
