Lennit Max has been appointed as Special Advisor to Police Minister Bheki Cele.

Advocate Lennit Max says his new position in the Police Ministry is not in conflict of interest for him as a member of the Democratic Alliance.

Max was responding to comments made by Western Cape DA leader, Bonginkosi Madikizela who lambasted Max for his ANC rhetoric during a media briefing on Monday.

Max has been appointed as Special Advisor to Police Minister Bheki Cele.

Madikizela says Max should make his new political home official.

Max says he will remain at the DA until he is forced out.

He says: “Nothing prevents me to serve the people of the Western Cape and the country whilst I am a DA member. So the only conflict of interest which might exist is a conflict which the DA will create to say that they prevent me to execute services at national level whilst a DA member.”

“I joined the DA voluntarily, if I want to join another party it will be voluntarily. As I speak to you now I am a DA member until such time that they or myself decide otherwise,” adds Max.
