Reading Time: 2 minutes

Former Free State Stars defender Rooi Mahamutsa says he’s tired of all the speculation behind a possible retirement from him.

The defender says it is up to him to decide when and where he will retire and believes he still has another two seasons left in football.

Earlier this month Free State Stars where relegated to the National First Division after losing in their final Absa Premiership match of the season 1-0 to now Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The former Orlando Pirates defender played for Stars for three seasons up to their relegation. He has being released from the side as his contract ends next month.

The 37-year old from Mpumalanga shares some of his plans.

Mahamutsa has played in the National First Division (NFD) for Witbank Spurs in 2006. He went on to join Pirates in 2008.

He won two league champions with the Soweto side after spending eight successful seasons with them. He talks further on retirement rumours.

This past season he made 28 appearances for Ea Lla Koto in league and cup matches, with no goals this season and only one assist. He admits they had a tough season in Bethlehem.

Mahamutsa is still without a team. He shares his working relationship this past season with former Stars coaches Luc Eymael and Nikola Kavozovic. – Report by Tshenolo Meruti
