Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor is testifying at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture in Johannesburg.

Former African National Congress MP Vytjie Mentor has revealed to the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture that her political history has shown that at times she diverted from the script when it was not fashionable to do so and always made it a point to hold the executive accountable.

Mentor is the third witness who is testifying at the Commission in Parktown, Johannesburg. The former ANC MP is one of the people who was interviewed by former public protector Thuli Madonsela in her investigation into state capture.

On Friday, former deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas dropped a bombshell when he accused Major-General Zinhle Mnonopi of trying to deliberately sabotage the investigation into the Guptas’ alleged attempt to bribe him.

Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Police has since called for an urgent investigation into the Hawks.
