Your humanity has been taken away: Malema

EFF leader, Julius Malema

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, says humanity will be restored when all people have access to functional basic services, such as sewerage systems in schools.

Last week a five-year-old girl died when she fell into a pit toilet at Luna Primary School in Bizana‚ in the Eastern Cape.

A similar incident happened at a school outside Polokwane in 2014 – where five-year-old Michael Komape drowned in a pit toilet.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has directed Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, to conduct an audit of all learning facilities with unsafe structures, especially unsafe ablution facilities‚ within a month.

Malema was speaking during an EFF Human Rights Day rally in Mpumalanga.

“You will never find white people without a reliable sewer system or schools with a pit toilet. Our children are dying in schools, falling into pit toilets. You have nothing to celebrate until you have fully recovered your humanity because your humanity has been taken away.”
