A man is expected to appear in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court on charges of human trafficking on Tuesday.
Ellias Ani Chukwuemeka was arrested after a woman escaped from a house where she was allegedly held captive and forced to be a prostitute.
According to the Hawks in Mpumalanga, the victim was recruited by a friend with a promise of an immediate job.
Hawks spokesperson in Mpumalanga Dineo Sekgotodi says the woman was taken to a house where she found other girls who were all allegedly forced into drugs and prostitution.
