Human Rights Day 2013 is being held at Embekweni Township Hall in Paarl, Western Cape. According to the Department of Arts and Culture the event will be held in the Western Cape because the province has been faced with a number of social and economic challenges such as the labour unrests in De Doorns and the rape and murder of Anene Booysen. Some of the focus areas for this year includerape, labour unrests and police brutality.
