Action groups have accused US negotiators of trying to weaken climate change talks in Durban. The network, Climate Action International, representing over 700 organisation, says concerns about global issues never move beyond talks. The group says its biggest fear now is that the Kyoto Protocol on reducing greenhouse gas emmissions may be put on hold for the next eight years. It’s calling for a second commitment period with serious legal obligations to come out of this conference. SABC reporter Horisani Sithole is at the climate talks in Durban and filled this report.
