Home Affairs Minister Siyabonga Cwele says his ministry has availed all resources to ensure all eligible voters, who might have lost their documents, are assisted ahead of next week’s polls.

Cwele says their offices will be operational also on voting day.

More than 27 million people have registered to vote.

Speaking at a handing over of an upgraded Home Affairs office in Swartruggens, North West, Cwele says they are ready.

“All our offices will be opened, and office hours will be aligned to the IEC, so that even on the election day we should continue to help our people, particularly those that might have lost their ID cards. We issue temporary identification certificate; those that have not collected theirs. Even on the election day.”
