The Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions, Willie Hofmeyr will again take the witness stand at the Mokgoro Enquiry in Centurion for cross examination.

The Enquiry adjourned last week to allow Hofmeyr time to consult with his legal counsel in relation to allegations he made in his affidavit.

Hofmeyr objected to being cross-examined by Nomgcobo Jiba’s legal team on certain aspects of a ruling against him in the Supreme Court of Appeal in 2017 on the so-called spy tapes.

The court found Hofmeyr ignored objective facts when trying to justify the discontinuation of the prosecution of former president Jacob Zuma.

Jiba’s legal team argued it was unfair for Hofmeyr to testify about her integrity, while his integrity was also in question.

The Enquiry heard evidence from 12 witnesses so far.
