Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng will take the stand before the CCMA.

Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng will argue before the CCMA in Johannesburg why he should be given his job back at the SABC.

Motsoeneng is challenging his dismissal. However, he is not fighting for his position as COO but as Group Corporate Affairs.

SABC board member Krish Naidoo’s cross-examination concluded on Tuesday.

Naidoo was grilled for calling Motsoeneng a high-school drop-out and for saying he made unilateral decisions. He was also taken to task for his assertion that the SABC board never approved the controversial 90 % local content decision.

Motsoeneng’s lawyers want the CCMA to find that Naidoo has lied and misled the public and parliament a number of times. They also wrangled about Naidoo’s comments that Motsoeneng had no authority to sign the R500 million Multichoice deal.

On Tuesday the issue of Motsoeneng’s academic qualifications was also the focus with Naidoo saying that there have been conflicting statements about whether Motsoeneng had finished matric.

Motsoeneng will take the stand in what promises to be an interesting session.
