Highlands Park failed to capitalise on their one man-advantage and only managed a 1-1 draw against Free State Stars in a tightly contested Absa Premiership match at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa Wednesday night.

Highlands’ Coach Owen da Gama felt his team was sluggish in front of goal.

The early goal conceded by the home side, Highlands, was a result of a defensive lapse in concentration and Sibusiso Hlubi tucked the ball away from a Rooi Mahamusta throw-in. Da Gama feels his defence should have done better.

Da Gama’s side has two home games and two away games left for the season and the experienced coach would want to push his team across the finish line, but first the focus will be on the clash against Cape Town City.
