The Acting National Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DCPI) also known as the Hawks, Yolisa Matakata has expressed concern over the high number of public officials found engaging in unlawful activities.

From November 2017 to date around 92 officials from different government entities across all provinces have been arrested for various offences, including corruption, armed robbery, and theft.

In a statement, Matakata says Limpopo had the highest number of officials arrested followed closely by Gauteng.

Matakata says corruption will not be tolerated. She has warned officials who think they can beat the system that they will be brought to book.
