High chance of rain for KZN

Persistent rain has also been forecast for KwaZulu-Natal. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says there’s a 60% chance of rain persisting until Wednesday in KwaZulu-Natal.

Forecaster Kumsa Masizana says, “KwaZulu-Natal is also expecting some rainfall. It is cloudy over there with some thunderstorms already developing over the Midlands and over the Eastern parts of KZN. It looks like it’s going to be a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers for today, tomorrow. It will start clearing from Wednesday morning, and then we will receive a 30% chance of some thunderstorms in the afternoon from Wednesday.”

Meanwhile – a weather warning has been issued for Gauteng for severe thunderstorms – with possible hail, heavy downpours and strong winds expected. Flooding, due to continuous on-and-off rainfall is expected in places over the central and eastern half of the North-West province as well.
