Heavy rain is expected to dampen people’s Heritage Day plans in KwaZulu Natal this long weekend, with the South African Weather Service forecasting wet conditions across most of the province.
An alert has also been issued for thunderstorms from Saturday, the heavier, more persistent rain expected to last until at least midnight.
Areas along the coast like Margate, Durban and areas over the interior like Harding towards Kokstad, with see heavy thunderstorms in the morning.
There is a 60% chance of showers and thunder showers for most parts of the province.
The thunderstorms are expected to be accompanied by heavy downpours with lighting flowing in some areas over the northern parts of KZN.
