The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for heavy downpour and localised flooding from Thursday night until Friday morning in the Cape Metropole, Overberg and Winelands districts.
This may lead to damage in informal settlements and crashes on roads.
Cape Town Weather Office forecaster, Thabisile Ntleko says “We’re expecting a cold front to pass through later on this evening that will bring on and off showers for tonight into tomorrow. There will be periods of heavy downpours later on tonight into tomorrow morning. As a result of that, we’ve issued a warning for heavy rain leading to localised flooding over the Cape Metropole, Overberg District as well as the South Western Cape Winelands overnight tonight into tomorrow morning.”
