Healthcare sector companies innovate to grow economy and keep public safe

Companies linked to the healthcare sector say despite the COVID-19 pandemic having wreaked havoc worldwide, some firms have taken the opportunity to innovate to help grow the economy and keep the public safe.

Recent innovations to help people cope with the pandemic include ventilation devices, vaccine development and various sanitizers, including one safe to be used on one’s face.

BSafe CEO JJ Viljoen says people must ensure they only use sanitizers that are specifically designed to be safe for face use.

“How can we find better ways of reducing infections? In our view, face sanitizer has been neglected worldwide and our research has shown that microbes, because we touch our face so often and due to viruses being airborne, they attach to our face and they accumulate on the face and that is one of the main problems.”
