The briefing comes amid the re-opening of schools.
Learners in inland provinces returned to school on Wednesday, while those in coastal areas will go back to classes next week.
Some parents and unions have called for schools to return to normal classes, instead of a continuation of the rotational system now that the country is over the fourth wave of COVID infections.
