Britain’s Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza to extend his lead in the drivers’ standings to 30 points over arch-rival, Germany’s Sebastien Vettel of Ferrari.

Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari finished second, with Valtteri Bottas in the other Mercedes third. Vettel finished fourth.

Hamilton started the race in third place, behind the Ferrari’s of Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen on pole.

Vettel was caught up in a racing incident with Hamilton which saw him drop places, while Hamilton overtook Raikkonen late in the race.
