Gupta family properties under curatorship

The Gupta family’s properties are now under curatorship after the National Prosecuting Authority obtained a restraining order in the Bloemfontein High Court.

The curator visited the Saxonwold Gupta compound and is also expected to attach more properties totaling R250 million.

The family and their businesses have been implicated in the Estina Dairy Farm theft and money laundering case.

The NPA’s Luvuyo Mfaku,”What the curator does is he goes to the property and he compiles an inventory of all assets then tell them they cannot dispose of the assets or property as the property is under curatorship. They do not go out with anything they leave everything there.”

Earlier, the lawyer that is representing the Gupta family did not allow law enforcement authorities to gain access into the property up until there was intervention. Eventually SARS and the Asset Forfeiture Unit officials were able to access the property.
