Thousands of South Africans have heeded the call by late struggle icon, Winnie Madikizela Mandela‘s family to form a guard of honour on the streets surrounding her house as her body heads home.
Military police motorcyclists lead the procession as community members ran alongside the hearse carrying Mama Winnie’s body.

It was followed by a bus with her family.
African National Congress (ANC) MP Zizi Kodwa says this is a huge moment.
A prayer session will be conducted by the members of the Methodist Church, followed by a night vigil at Orlando Community Hall ahead of Saturday’s funeral at the Orlando Stadium.
