The youth in Greenpoint, near Kimberley, have expressed lack of confidence that things will change in their area.
This as African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa is visiting the area on Monday as part of the party’s elections campaign trail.
Young people in Greenpoint say they want better service delivery and job opportunities.
“They just come and make promises and go again. It has been the same routine for years, ” says one young person.
“Even if we vote, we are giving him power to do what? He is not even doing nothing. Look at our parks, look at our streets, look at our houses. I hope that everything must change because in Greenpoint nothing has changed. I want the president to make Greenpoint a better place”
