Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has urged the community of Wattville on Gauteng’s Eastrand to help police recover body parts of the murdered four-year-old Bokgabo Poo that have still not been found.

He says he has spoken to the police to bring all necessary resources to assist the family to close this painful chapter. The mutilated body of the young girl was discovered in Tamboville on Tuesday after she had been reported missing on Monday while playing with friends at a local park.

Thirty-year-old Ntokozo Zikhali has appeared at the Benoni Magistrate’s Court court facing charges of murder, rape, kidnapping, and violation of a corpse. Lesufi briefed the community following his visit to the little girl’s home.

“We are dealing with somebody who has done this thing before, who is heartless. We are briefing the NPA. He is currently out on bail. He is accused of raping a nine-year-old girl. So we need to rescind that bail as well, so that we find a mechanism to close everything that we need to close,” says Lesufi.

Earlier, the father of the girl tried to attack the accused in the dock.

Chaos erupted inside the courtroom after the murdered toddler’s father jumped from the gallery where he was seated in an attempt to grab and attack the accused. Other community members tried to join in the commotion but the police who were present in court grabbed the attackers and subdued them.

The magistrate left the court in a rush and the matter had to be adjourned. The accused has another pending rape case in the same magistrate’s court.
