Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula, has announced that the renewal grace period for learners’ and drivers’ licenses has been extended to the 31st of March 2022.
This after several motorists whose licenses expired between March and December last year complained that they have been unable to make renewal bookings, with an August the 31st deadline looming.
Mbalula was speaking during a media briefing in Centurion.
“All learners licences, driving licence cards, temporary driving licences and professional driving permits that expired during the period from 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 August 2021 are deemed to be valid and extended for a further grace period ending 31 March 2022.”
