Grace Mugabe attacks Zimbabwe Deputy President

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Zimbabwean First Lady Grace Mugabe seemingly has her sights set on the position of vice president of the country. She received a hostile reception at a rally in Bulawayo on Saturday. However, undeterred, she launched an attack on first Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, saying he should be replaced by a woman.

It was a poorly attended rally and Grace Mugabe was openly booed. She again took aim at Mnangagwa. The first Vice President recently claimed his ice cream was poisoned at a Zanu PF event in September.

In the October cabinet reshuffle, he was axed as justice minister, but retained his role as vice president. Mugabe says Mnangagwa is dividing the country.  She called for action to be taken.

Mugabe says there should be a disciplinary committee against Mnangagwa.  President Robert Mugabe also tore into Mnangagwa questioning if he had made a mistake by appointing him.

The President  fiercely defended the first lady and hinted at yet another cabinet reshuffle.
