Government needs to step up farm recapitalisation programme – farmer

Mothusi Thwane, an emerging farmer in North West, says government needs to speed up its recapitalisation for black farmers. Thwane was speaking to SABC News Online in the run-up to the centenary of the Natives Land Act of 1913 and while he is able to farm thanks to government intervention, he says there is still room for improvement in achieving true land reform.
His fences are dilapidated, his camps overgrazed, and his frustrations mounting. He has been waiting for almost 3 years for government to recapitalise the farm he leases from it.
