Gordhan calls for tips ahead of 2017 Budget

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan, has called for tips before he tables the budget on the 22nd February.

Treasury says the National Budget speech will be presented against the backdrop of sluggish growth, the looming threat of a rating agency downgrade, the Fees Must Fall campaign, as well as uncertainty in the global economy.

As usual, a balancing act must be struck to give attention to various competing priorities.

It says in this context Gordhan invites South Africans to share their views. In particular, he would like public views on the funding of free education for tertiary students, and how South Africa can achieve inclusive economic growth.

Tips can be forwarded on the National Treasury South Africa facebook account; on the National Treasury website or @TreasuryRSA on Twitter with the hashtag #BUDGET2017.
