Kaizer Chiefs are on a four match winless streak in all competitions at the moment. They face their hoodoo team SuperSport United in a Telkom knockout quarter-final match in Durban on Sunday.

“It is a crucial game for us. We need to repay our fans after the derby. Injury has forced me to change the squad. We need more consistency”

United knocked Chiefs out of the MTN 8 competition before losing in the final to Cape Town City. Chiefs will be hoping to avenge their MTN 8 loss and please their friends.

Kaizer Chiefs lost last weekend’s Soweto Derby to Orlando Pirates and it hurt the team and supporters. But they have a chance to redeem themselves when they host SuperSport United in the Telkom knockout on Sunday.

Chiefs head coach Giovanni Solinas who is under immense pressure at the moment, knows it is very important for his team to forget about Saturdays loss and focus on Sunday’s match against SuperSport United.

“Sunday our opponent is very good SuperSport is a very good club, a very good team every year they won a trophy, every season they go into a final. It’s a tough game very difficult, very difficult, ” says Kaizer Chiefs Coach, says Solinas.

Chiefs on the attack look very promising, but they are weak in defense. They have conceded goals in every match played this season. It’s something Mario Booysen and his fellow defenders want to rectify.

“If you concede goals they will look to the defenders but I think we should just stay positive it comes with the game, we should just focus on the job we have focus on what we have to do cause at the end of the day I know the players have the quality and all the defenders have the quality because anyone can step up and play so I think we took a lot of stick but I think it doesn’t make you a bad player you know,” says  Booysen.

The match will be played at Moses Mabhida on Sunday afternoon.
