The Western Cape and Gauteng are the only two provinces with higher coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery rates than the other seven provinces.
More than half of the people who contracted the coronavirus in the Western Cape and Gauteng have recovered.
Gauteng became the COVID-19 epicentre for a second time on the 8th of July after overtaking the Western Cape which has been the epicentre since the 24th of April.
According to the daily national figures, the Eastern Cape has 52 058 total confirmed cases which include deaths, active cases, and recoveries and out of these total confirmed cases, the province recorded 32 083 recoveries.
The Western Cape’s recovery rate stands at 59 492. Its total confirmed cases are 79 344.
