Gauteng Premier calls for justice following murder of ANC Councillor in Tshwane

Gauteng Premier David Makhura says he is concerned with some ANC councillors being killed and others living in fear.

Makhura was visiting the family of slain Tshwane ANC Ward Councillor, Tshepo Motaung in Mabopane north of Pretoria.

UPDATE | Cele, Makhura visit home of slain Tshwane Ward 22 councillor Tshepo Motaung:

Motaung was shot multiple times while driving home with his uncle and another relative last Friday. His uncle was wounded and rushed to hospital.

Makhura says justice must prevail.

ANC supporters at Ward 22 in Mabopane, north of Pretoria are calling for justice following the brutal murder of local councillor Motaung.

They gathered outside the deceased’s home where Cele and Makhura met the family.

Tshepo Motaung | Community demands answers and justice for slain Tshwane Councillor:

Earlier this months, three women were killed in Inanda, north of Durban, when occupants of a car randomly opened fire during a community meeting to nominate a ward councillor candidate for the ANC. Three people died, while five others survived.

State Security Deputy Minister, Zizi Kodwa said the killing of three women should not deter people from participating in political activity, ahead of local government elections.  

Kodwa, accompanied by Cele, visited families of the victims,of the women killed during the drive-by shooting.
